Attend a Mandatory Information Session

Applicants must attend a Practical Nursing Information Session (between August 2025 - May 2026) to learn about admission requirements, curriculum, clinical experiences, and the application process.

Location: Virtual (Zoom) & In-Person (Danvers Campus)
Duration: Approximately 1 hour
Attendance: Arrive on time! Late arrivals (5+ minutes) will not be admitted and must attend a future session. Attendance will be recorded.


Take the ATI TEAS Exam

Exam Requirements:

  • Preferred that TEAS are taken at 窪蹋勛圖厙 (online TEAS exams not accepted)
  • Exams taken in testing locations other than 窪蹋勛圖厙 must adhere to the proctoring requirements with a secured browser. 
  • ATI TEAS Version 7 required
  • Max 3 attempts per academic year (Sept 1 - Aug 31) regardless of the testing site and program to which they are applying.
  • Tests from other locations require an official transcript from ATI ()

Minimum TEAS Scores

Reading: 69% |  Math: 63.3% | Science: 36.4% |  English: 54.2%

TEAS Exam Exemption

  • If you hold a Bachelor of Science degree from an academic institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and have completed Anatomy & Physiology I & II with a C or better, the TEAS requirement is waived.

Complete the Application

Submit the Selective Admissions Application regardless of whether you are a new or current student.

Write & Submit Your Essay

A word-processed essay, written in the English language, must be attached for the year in which you are applying. The essay should be approximately 1-2 pages in length and must answer all questions. 

Prompt: Why would you like to pursue a Practical Nursing career? 

  • What specific qualities you possess that you feel would make you a good candidate for our program?
  • What steps will you take to ensure your success in our program? 
  • Provide personal examples or anecdotes.

 


Submit all previous College/University Transcripts

All official transcripts from previous colleges/universities must be sent directly to 窪蹋勛圖厙. If youve already submitted transcripts, you must send updated ones if youve completed additional coursework.

Transfer Students 

Transfer students from another NLN accredited school of professional nursing or practical nursing program or practical nursing program approved by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing. Students must submit the following:

    • Official transcript verifying enrollment in previous school of nursing or practical nursing program within the last two academic  years.
    • Course syllabi from all previously completed nursing courses.
    • Letter of recommendation from the Practical Nursing Program, preferably from a clinical instructor or Nursing Faculty Adviser. 
    • Documentation of at least 8 nursing credits completed from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.
    • Course syllabi from previous nursing course
    • applicants must review all Practical Nursing program policies for transfer or advanced standing in the Practical Nursing Program.
    • additional criteria may apply as specified by the program transfer or advanced standing policy.

Demonstrate Proficiency

Upload documentation to your application. Communications & Mathematics Proficiency can be demonstrated in multiple ways:

  • SAT scores
  • Accuplacer tests
  • High school GPA
  • College coursework

Submit High School Transcript or GED

Upload your high school transcript or GED score report. If you submitted this within the last 5 years, confirm with SelectiveAdmissions@northshore.edu.

 


Submit a Professional Reference

Provide one professional letter of recommendation speaking to professionalism, integrity, and work-ethic from the following:

  • Employer
  • School counselor/advisor
  • Professor

The recommendation must be requested through the online Admissions application portal after application is submitted.

Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN)

The Practical Nursing Certificate at 窪蹋勛圖厙s Ferncroft Road campus in Danvers, MA, is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). The ACEN Board of Commissioners recently granted the program Continuing Accreditation status. Additionally, the program is approved by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing.
